Welcome!
You are reading my the first entry in the teacher's blog for AEP Reading/Writing five. It was great meeting you all yesterday, and I hope you learned something in the lesson. One of the problems in teaching is that students don't necessarily learn what you think you are teaching.
My plan yesterday was to introduce the course and the textbook to you, and get some idea of your initial reading and speaking skills. The homework I assigned, the letter to me, will give me an idea of your writing skills. I hope you 'read between the lines' of my lesson, and took something valuable from it.
Today's lesson will have a lot to do with computers, as I want to make computers and computer use part of this course. That reflects the reality at universities today, where most written work must be submitted type-written, and where computer literacy is very much expected.
I'm looking forward to reading your first blogs, and to seeing your comments on this entry!
John

Dear John,
I've never make a blog in english before. And I think this is a perfect idea to help student improve writing and typing skill. It's very useful for the world of education everyday.
After I read your blog, I had a question about your first sentence "You are reading my the first entry...". Can I cut "the"? Is it still the same?
Anyway, the only thing that I want to comment you is about your pale blog.....!! [i'm very sorry to say that] In my opinoin, the colour thing can distract other's attention.
Thanks,
Thun
Dear John,
Glad to be the second one to comment on this blog. It's a very good idea that everyone has their own blogs, so the blogs could keep us connecting.
BTW, I quite agree with Thun that your blog's color is too plain. =)
Joyce
Dear John,
You have a very creative way of learning English that I have never thought of before! What an initiative it is!
Best,
Pach
I like the the word "read between the line" and oh, I like the way you tried many times to pronounce Thun's name, too. You'll pronounce it accurately soon, I'm sure. ;P

Dear John,
I like the way you teach in the class. I get quite a lot of ideas about reading and taking notes. You show me the thing I've never known before. To start my own blog is a good idea to express my thought and practice writing skill. The last, I'm grad to study with you.
Thanks,
Por
Dear John,
Your class is so nice. I learnt a lot of new ways to read more efficiently. Moreover, I did learn how to creat a new blog with blogger.com. At first,I planned to use my msn one but i think it's easier to set up a new unique one to use for our class. BTW now I don't feel used to using this new blogger. I am wondering how to link my blog with others.
See you tomorrow.
Bests,
Dao
Dear John,
First time the I thought when you've asked me to have my own blog I thought that "Why do you know "blog"?".
Becuase in my opinion,I think who have their own blog must be teenager or someone that have a time enough to do,not you who always have a class and don't have anytime for it
However,I like the way you teach us.Becasue you not only order but also do the same thing like us. It's a very good model.
Bests,
Ann
Well done! Everyone thinks that native speakers use perfect English, but often we don't. I wrote the first blog entry in a hurry, and I didn't proof read it carefully enough. I think I meant to say 'You are reading my first blog entry' -- but it looks like I changed my mind as I wrote, and decided to say "You are reading the first blog entry'. Oops! It just shows everybody needs to proof read!
As for color, I don't like pretty colors much, but I think its a very personal kind of thing. Perhaps I will change the background color in the future.
Anyway, see you in class!
Hi Joyce,
Wow, it looks like I may have to change the background color soon!
John
Good Morning Pach!
Let's hope that together we can make this a creative class, and very productive in learning English. Certainly, the more you use a language for real communication, the better you will become in that language.
John
Zar,
Reading between the lines, and looking at the number of students who successfully created their blogs and commented on mine, I think this is going to be a great class.
John
Por,
Education, any kind of education, is all about getting and sharing new ideas. One of the things I like about AEP classes is that we can all share together, and all learn from each other. For example, yesterday I learned about a new way to search in google, something I didn't know about before. It's fun to grow together!
John
Dao,
I'm very new to blogging myself, and this is my first blog! However, I do know how to link sites. Look for the menu at the top of the page and select 'customize'. Then 'add element to blog' (I'm going from memory here, but I think that is the one) and then choose 'add links'.
I hope this works.
John
Ann,
Secretly, I am still a teenager!
John
Dear John,
I am Joon,it is my thai name.
I am certain that you did make a good blog. Like other classmate, definitely,I will enjoy the class.

Dear John,
I don't like studying language course because it is normally a boring class. However, you have changed my mind. The class is so great. It is interesting all the time(maybe 2 hours are not enough). I learnt many valuable things from the classs in only 3 days. Thanks for telling me to create the blog. This is the first blog in my life and I will do my best.
See you tomorrow. I will not be late again.
Aey (Thank you for trying so hard to pronounce my name) c",)
Aey,
Your name is a real challenge to me, but I will keep going. Don't let me stop until I can say it correctly ;-)
John
Dear John,
Thank you very much for your advice. It took me a long time to get my blog linked to other students since I used Internet Explorer and it didn't allow some tabs to pop-up. Hopefully, I changed to FireFox, and it worked!
